Tomorrow we celebrate our risen Lord, but has this special day just become a day on the calendar? Has this day become a day to make an annual visit to church, or to show off that new dress? Has the worship of our Lord and Savior just become a habit? Does what God did for you and me, still fill us with awe?
In awe of Jesus. I think about what it must have been like to walk with Him and talk with Him and learn from Him. I think about what it must have been like to see Him beaten and scorned, then hung on that cross, still asking God to forgive. I think about what it must have been like to find His tomb empty, to see the nail holes in His hands, to see Him rise up into heaven and take His place at the right hand of God.
In awe of His Perfect Plan. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to teach us about Who He is. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to show us He understands that sin beats us down and how it can burden a soul. God loves us so much that He sacrificed His own Son on that cross and raised Him from the tomb to show us that we can have eternal life, if only we believe. God loves us so much that He made His Son to be our litigator for forgiveness, because He knows Man alone cannot do enough to make himself clean
I am in awe of Jesus. I am in awe of God’s Perfect Plan. I am so in awe of His love for me, that at times it can bring me to tears. Jesus….. God as Man, The Messiah, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, our Litigator, Savior of us all.
“Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is Himself God. He created everything there is—nothing exists that He didn’t make. Eternal life is in Him, and this life gives light to all mankind. His life is the light that shines through the darkness—and the darkness can never extinguish it……….. But although He made the world, the world didn’t recognize Him when He came. Even in His own land and among His own people, the Jews, He was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive Him. But to all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust Him to save them. All those who believe this are reborn!—not a physical rebirth resulting from human passion or plan—but from the will of God. And Christ became a human being and lived here on earth among us and was full of loving forgiveness and truth. And some of us have seen His glory—the glory of the only Son of the heavenly Father!” John 1:1-5, 10-14.
